The Clique

The Clique is a group of OWoT users who have invaded the official OWoT Discord server and use their power & recognition by the admins to spread views and rules onto OWoT. Due to their general outlook on opinions other than their own, they are considered an echochamber. They also often get stuck on drama and keep talking about it until it is fixed, despite the cause sometimes being up to months old.

Members of the Clique are most often almost exclusively on the OWoT Discord, and do not spend much time on the site. They do this mainly because the environment in the OWoT Discord better fit their views on how the site should be run. TBD

History

Early Days on OWoT

This time was the original birth of what would be the Clique, with it all being started with user AndreiXYZ, who was a radical left-wing activist. Andrei managed to get on the good side of many of the existing pro-moderation OWoT users & FP. He used his connection with FP to convince him of that he should moderate OWoT more. This was only accelerated when PinkiePie first joined OWoT. Over the years, the pro-moderation users would colonize mainly on the OWoT Discord, but it was still not too big of a deal at the time.

Getting Fersny in as an Administrator on the OWoT Discord, and the immediate effects

On the 15th of May, 2024, Fernsy would get moderative permissions on the OWoT Discord, given by FP. This followed by a legion of the OWoT Discord userbase being banned for being too edgy or right-wing. This caused a major revolt from the userbase who got banned, with them moving to the main site and garnering a hateful opinion on the now left-wing controlled OWoT Discord. This also led to a majority of pro-moderation users to migrate to almost exclusively use the OWoT Discord instead of spending time on both it and the site. This would begin the transition of the OWoT Discord from just a Discord server for OWoT, to the far-left echochamber parasite that it is today.

The Clique fully forms

As an effect of every mainly edgy user being banned from the OWoT Discord, the community which the admins now mainly saw was one of pro-moderation left-wing users who want more moderation to be applied onto the site. This immediately started causing issues as FP has said that he works by "The means of the many over the means of the few". And when he only really saw the pro-moderation users, he started growing more voice to them. Over time, all of this caused the communities & cultures of the Discord and site to slowly split apart as the userbase only grew more different. This was also around when Andrei stopped being an active OWoT user.

Though this was not enough for the Clique. The Clique also wanted site moderation to be as strict as Discord moderation. For the longest time, they did not get this, with FP refusing to ban toxic chat users off of site chat. TBD
